24th August still more photos

Mace Town on the Arrow River

Mt Aurum, Skippers Road, Queenstown

This shower is more roomy than the caravan one, good if it has been a hot day and there is no stiff breeze!

24th August more photos

Moths flying above our heads!!

Benmore Station ( Farm ) with old gold miners hut

This is why we have bought all lite weight camping gear this year, we want to go even higher and camp overrnight in the summer at the same level as the remaining snow, - our aim for 2011. Fitness is needed now we have the gear.

One of my favourite pictures of Peters. It is Papamoa Beach, near Mt Maunganui. There is so much happening in the photo, the more you look the more you see!

Hooker Lake Peter and some of the ice bergs

Garston, South of Queenstown

I cant get the photos in the order I want ! I get the first one and then the next then they jump to the top and flit around, still a better effort than yesterday
zigzag tracks up and down hills were a feature on our tour of private high country stations ( NZ Farms )

Caravan loaded, vehicle loaded, bikes on the roof and Mount Ruapehu in the background
A magnificent evening view as the sun sets behind us

24th August

I spent a long time yesterday trying to put more photos on the Blog.

I came unstuck and made a real mess of it. I realised later the thing to do was to delete the page and start again.

So here is a text blog and then I will do hopefully some photos.

I found how to alter the time to NZ time and to answer a question I was asked "Yes the tent is big enough for two lying flat." There is no extra space at the sides or ends though. I will include some photos of our bigger tent hopefully today.

1st posting

I am learning to set up a blog, so we can show some of our photos without sending very long emails. At the moment I have not got it worked out. The photos and writing are all a bit mixed up. Keep persevering if you want to see the photos ! if not switch off.

We have created this blog so we can share some of our photos and activities with family and friends around the world.
These photos are mostly of the south of the South Island of New Zealand. A few over the next few postings will show our campsites including the semi permanent one at Pongakawa. We have chosen about 40 for this first batch and will include them over the next few days.
